BEWARE autopartswarehouse.com!

I just bought an air filter from ***********************, which was not the filter shown on the site (clearly their mistake). They will accept the return, but I have to pay the return shipping, which would be at least 1/4 of the original price. I'll probably eat the loss ($21) and refuse to pay anything more. I will definitely refuse to ever do business with them again. Beware, or be ripped of by ***********************.

Funny you write this. Last week Wednesday I ordered four Bilsteins and a steering damper from them. Their website and telephones constantly scream "Quick Shipment Guaranteed", but after three days of prodding, they finally shipped them today (Tues). When I would call and ask for an order status, I got "Gee, not sure why they haven't gone out" from one guy and "Shipping won't answer their phones - you need to call us back later" from another. I still can't check my Tracking #, but I hope to get the shocks by Friday.

What hacks me off is that I ordered them last Wed so I could install them during this holiday week, and I verified they had them in stock when I ordered them. Unless they show up Friday, I guess I'm not installing them this weekend.

I won't buy from them again either.

They are a front end for Worldpac. They ship from whatever warehouse is closest to you (if it has stock). I have had pretty good luck, but probably because I have a warehouse close by and they ship promptly. However, one time parts came from across the country. Luckily I only had to call their customer service once, I think it was in India... They did sub parts on me one time but it was OK with me in that case. I just bought some BMW filters from them last week and had no trouble. FWIW.

I too think they (or their phone people) are in India. I even asked and they said they were in Carson, CA. Of course, they don't want this fact to get out, although it is becoming a common practice, but the accents and noisy phone connections are a dead give-away.

Twice I had to wait about 30 miutes for someone to answer the phone, going thru this mess, while the recording kept telling me how important I am; they're a joke.

Other good places are "Rusty's" and "buy-direct.com"

This was a good lesson - and relatively inexpensive.

yeah, they messed up my order too BTW

When I was restoring the 600,they mailed me 2 right valve cover gaskets. The left cover gasket box was different and you guessed it, opened. Someone cannibalized and sw it probably. Ended up reusing the old one. Always specifically state not to send repackaged stuff. Never had a problem with the benzbin though.

I've ordered from a number of these places.

The only one I was dissatisfied with was http://www.autopartsgiant.com/

"autopartswarehouse"

We ordered an oem door latch from this company off of ebay. I payed top option for fast freight. 5 days later...nothing....on the 8th day I finally got through to someone on the telephone. I had been emailed a bogus tracking number since the purchase. I was told "that part is discontinued, you will receive a refund within 4 to 6 business days'. The whole time, I had been waiting for the latch up until my call of discovery.. No notification by email, telephone, carrier pigeon, naada! I was po's to the extreme. They had even given me a "tracking number" (Computer generated). What tops it off....They had the same latch listed on ebay.....with a "32 available" in the sale page. I beleive it is still for sale to this day.
They get the A-Class "FLAKE" award...hands down!

"Knowing is half the battle".

I have order 95% of my parts lately form them and they have been fine for me good prices and very fast shipping!

There are so many much better sites.....why buy from them.

I'd tell them their charge to my credit card would be refused and if they wanted their part returned they can send a prepaid label for UPS. I sure wouldn't pay $21 for their mistake.

As an IT guy, I deal with Indians pretending to be American, and in America all the time. My favorite is when they pick an Anglo name. One time last year, a guy was telling me his name was Chad and that he was in Texas. I said okay, my name is Srinivas and I'm in Bangalore. He tried not to laugh but he knew he was busted.

I like saying "good morning" when it's morning there, ...

Why not order from Phil? Fast shipping. Tracking number. If you call, he will answer the phone. If not leave a message and he WILL call back. If any goes wrong it is quickly fixed.
