The Australian version does`nt have the rotating plug which varies the timming in steps, instead it has two wires going to a small plug which has a 1watt 10ohm resistor in it so it can be changed, what would like to know is my resistor (10ohm) the standard one and what would it be changed to to advance my timming in 3degree steps, as i`m now running what we here in Australia call Ultra Unleaded fuel which has a much better octain rating 98 i think, so i might be able to advance the timming without getting any pinging. Thanks

On US models! the most change that I could make was 2deg. That is with the resistor removed!

Timing adjustment

The resistors only retard the timing. So, like the man said, even with no resistor you're not going to get much of a change. You could try an aftermarket timing controler, but I have no idea if you can tie it into the EZL system or not. The way they work is to actually "retard" the initial spark input almost a full revolution.

So is 10ohm the standard factory fittment, the soldering to the pins looks, well not production line assembly, a bit bloby if you know what i mean.
