S500 W140 Tail Light Lenses

I have a 1994 S500 with the old style tail lights. It has the long bar that goes along the bottom and the red lenses (with the orange indicator underneath) for the right and left. I was interested to know if it is possible to install the 97-99, three part tail light assembly on the 94s? And if yes, is it difficult? Are there any tricks to get the old assembly taken out and the new one put in successfully?

Any one know where to get those lenses for less than $400?
