final answer

All sounds good Doc.
I will use the 93 190E 2.6 auto tranny with the first gear start to install in to my 1986 190E 2.3 16v auto tranny car. I will use the torque converter that came with the 93 2.6 since it has the wear marks from its tranny already. I will use the govenor in the 93 tranny and test it to see if it shifts at the right times and if not I will remove the c clip, pull the govenor retainer clip out with a pair of 90 degree angle clip pliers since the govenor can be removed with the tranny in the car and I will swap the 16v govenor into the 93 tranny so the shift points are correct. Any viola', I have a first gear start in my 16v auto tranny. yea!
Thanks again
Chris
