Hello,
My 190E 2.6 was missing the entire air scoop assembly along with the intake air temperature sensor. I think its kind of important so I replaced the parts, but I found that there is no wire for the air temperature sensor! The Service CDROM shows a wire that connects to the sensor but I can't seem to find this wire anywhere in my engine bay. Could one of you fellow 103.942 owners have a looksee at where the wire for the intake air temperature sensor runs to so that maybe I can dig around and hopefully find it wrapped or taped up somewhere? I suppose its possible that the wire is similar in the 103.941 but who knows.. I guess I could also go down the street and introduce myself to my neighbours and look at their car, but I'm sure they'll have no idea what I'm talking about! Thanks in advance. |
Some have the sensor in the intake air horn some don't. Depends on the year and model. Mine does not have the sensor in the air horn..

What year model is it. You didn't say in your post but if I'm right pre 1990 models did'nt youse this sensor.

I just looked more carefully at the service manual, and its '88 and newer California Models and all 1991 and newer of the M103.942 that use the Intake Air Temperature sensor. So being a 1987 model, I don't have to worry about this guy although the Ignition Control Unit might still have the port for it. Thanks for the help!
