need any sigestions parts are all off the car

try and explain what you intend to do a bit more clearly

What car do you have?
Are the parts welded together or is there a clamp between?

Try this tool. Available from Harbor Freight. Or make something like it. The diameter must fit the pipes.

I checked Harbor Freight but could not find it without the item name or # :(

i remember once i had this same exact issue.... i had to take it to a technical college..and the kids separated it with intense heat...

Yes, from the factory the center and rear muffler are all one piece.

Go to Auto Zone and rent (for free) their chain cutter.

Be sure you cut the pipe in the right place to enable the replacement rear muffler/pipe to reach.

Get a chisel at the join, and force the metal out slightly. Then get a bloody great big lump hammer, and keep whacking the edge of the pipe until it comes loose (obviously hit it in the direction it should come off, don't hit it to flatten the pipe!)

I can't find the tool either: Get a message, the item has been discontinued. On my 280SL, I separated the exhaust pipes by wiggling. It took a lot of patience. Those pipes are 1 5/8 x 1/16 wall stainless and there was no good way to clamp one side, like, to a workbench. I used a slug of lead to pound carefully on a clamp I had set-up. I put them together with high temperature grease and it paid off: The next time, they came apart easily. How about bringing the entire assembly to a muffler shop? If you end up cutting the pipes, note, that it is a real ***** to weld them together in the correct rotational alignment. You almost have to at least tack them on the car. If you cut at an angle, it is easier to weld them together properly. To make sure, just tack and try on the car. Then remove & finish weld.
