Oil Question ,Delvac in gasser

Can Mobil 1 Delvac 5-40 Syn ( Truck/SUV Turbo Deisel heavy oil)
be used in a gasser ? ie 1981 500SEL Euro , presently running Mobil 1 15-50 syn, however I am getting some blue smoke on acceleration and read someplace that Delvac might help with the smoke. Not trying to avoid a valve stem job just trying to gain a little time before I spend the money

Thanks
Doug J

The oil technically is a fleet oil, for gas/diesel. It has an SM rating so it's fine. I run in in my diesels, my w140 and everything else, generator, lawnmowers etc. However at 5w40 it will flow better than the 15w50 you are using so I'd think you would actually get more smoke.

i'd probably go with 15w40 or 20W50 dino for your particular car, climate, and situation. i agree that any 5W40 synthetic will probably make your oil burning worse...just my 2 cents.
