I'm in Mid-conversion Euro-Lights

I've read all the posts about Euro-lights over a day or so and although there is help about wiring, there is little or no information about the bottom bracket. I bought a pair of Depos, which seem pretty good overall although somewhat crude in some areas. Kind of goes with the cheesy sheet metal screws Mercedes used to mount them. Anyway, the bottom bracket holds the North American wiper assy. if you are going to use it, but it is not a direct bolt-on. In fact, even if you don't use the wipers it will not fit without some mods.

Can anybody please tell me what their solution was for this bottom bracket? I hesitate to use steel angle shelving with all the holes, because of the corrosion problem, even if the holes will be very useful. An aluminium channel would work to mount the wipers again but I do not have the technology to cut slots for adjusting the lights. Anybody got any great ideas? I can't drive until I solve this problem and the lights are going to look deluxe and maybe I'll be able to see again when the sun goes down! Mmmm Guinness!

I've only converted w124 but there should be holes for European wipers on the molded bracket below the headlight assembly. If you want to retain the wiper system, you will need the longer Euro wiper assemblies. If not, they are covered by the lower sheetmetal panel without wiper or squirter jet holes. The headlight conversion should have instructions, wiring diagram, and a parts list for what you will need.

The screws are secure enough once the 3 OEM screw brackets are transferred to the plastic housing assembly.

Thanks for your response - I've read of numerous owners who have kept the N.A. wipers (esthetically suspect...) and they will have needed to fabricate a bracket - or even if they chose no wipers there needs to be a bracket - any ideas?

OK, I'm sure you are all relieved to know that the lights are in the car with the old wiper assemblies (meh) and all I had to do was some judicious drilling of the old bracket. The wiring directions were perfect, thank-you to an unknown poster, now all I have to do is wait until it gets dark and I will adjust them! Sure does look good!!

Here is a photo... well, maybe not - 73KB is microscopic, so maybe later.
