anti-theft problems!!!
 

I have a 2002 S430 that has developed a alarm system problem. The system triggers an alarm for no apparent reason every five to ten mintes.
When this started two days ago it was several hours between alarms. I
would like to know if anyone can offer some advise to help. Thanks in advance.

Mercedes Anti-Theft systems are very temperamental.

Do you have interior motion sensors? If you do, those are the first culprits in alarm malfuntions.

I would recommend reading your computer codes. Every time the alarm is triggered a code is registered why it was triggered.

Check what is triggering the system and see if physically if there is a real reason for it.

Mine developed the exact same problem. Unfortunately, MB didn't put any alarm code reading system for my model and I am unwilling to diagnose the problem, so the alarm is now disconnected. Do what AR suggested and have the codes read. This will narrow down where you have to look for the problem.
