My '95 C280 does not have an oil pressure gauge or even an indicator lamp. According to the owners manual, the indicator lamp is for oil level not pressure. Can anyone explain why MB decided not to put a gauge or lamp in this car?

My guess is that Mercedes Benz has never had a problem with oil pressure because generally they are maintained the way they should be. The oil level gauge is just a luxury for not having to pull the dip stick to check the oil level.
