190e 2.6 Radiator removal
Hello to everyone!
While driving back to school the neck of the upper radiator hose broke on my 1889 190e (2.6) and I am seeking assistance on how to replace it. Thanks in advance for everyone's help in advance. (I've searched the DIY threads and there are no postings and I hope this is a straight forward repair/replacement) BYI: 1. I have disconnected all three hoses. 2. I have disconnected the transmission lines. 3. The fan cover have been unattached but not removed (no space). - None of the electric cooling fans in the front grill have been touched yet. |
On the 2.6L, because of the extra length of the engine compared to the 2.3L four, Mercedes made the radiator upper mount removable. The mount is the metal bar that spans between the fenders. That top bar needs to be removed.
