One wire 100 amp shiny alternator or reman 65 amp replacement

Okay so i have several threads up about the probs im having. I know my voltage regulator is bad (actually i dont know at o'reily's they said that the alt was putting out 16.75 v at idle). Anyways i've price checked new regulators 40 or so dollars, a reman alternator from partstrain is 65 and its a bosch. JC whit has a 100 amp one wire hook up alt for 120. The reasoning behind the larg alt is that i will be hooking up a dvd player cd player, 2 10" JL subs with 400 watt amp. and a wvo system. What is everyone's thought on this.

Going to a higher amperage alternator is not a bad idea, given the demands of your audio/video install. However, I'm not sure I would trust my electrical load demands on a JC Whitney no-name brand alternator. If you are knowledable enough to select JL audio drivers, then you are certainly aware of the alternator offerings in the market that stereo competitors endorse...and they PUNISH their equipment! I always say...you can't have TOO many aternators...

				thanks for the knowledge comment

haha, actually the story behind the speakers is kinda funny. This guy in the country opended up a auto stereo store, JL sponspored his truck and it was huge. His girlfriend tanned at my tanning salon so i traded him 2 years tanning for the whole set up. Month later they both were arrested for meth production and sales and are gonna be gone way longer than two years. Thanks for the advice. Not being able to work on this car till the weekend and having to order everything is a pain. Dont want to take it apart and not have what i need. Thats why im thinking of replaceing the alternator instead of trying to fix the voltage regulator. |

oh yeah forgot to add more, so the city police kept the truck and turned it into a DARE ride that they take to schools and stuff. Then one of the cops took a corner to sharp and to fast and rolled it. I think it was a 2004 f350 superduty super cap with 52" wheels, and 20" subs and all sorts of stuff. Dont know what happened after that. All i got to say is i love my country hill billy souther oklahoma town

Actually, the setup provides the juice to deliver several kilowatts of power to a plethora of subwoofers stuffed into the vehicle below. The owner is Alma Gates, considered by most as the "Michael Jordan" of the spl competition circuit. Capable of producing 170+ dB!!!
