'01 E430 4matic Boot Cover?
 

I just took my E430 in for service A, and they told me there was a crack on the "accordion-like" cover that protects the boot. They told me the only way to fix this problem was to replace the axle for about $1500. Is there anyone who knows of a better solution? Cant you just replace the cover instead of the entire axle? Are they taking my for a ride?
