SLS Help Needed!! PLS!
 

Hi all!

I own a 1986 230TE with this system installed. Until recently she started leaking oil at the seal on the strut.

I would really be happy if anyone would be able to tell me how to open the strut to replace the seal and because i live in south africa, quoted parts would set me back R10000 or $1450.

So please help me keep her original and if possible let me know how to open the strut replace the seal and get her back on the road again!!

Managed to open the strut today, hopefully saving the cost of a new one! Replaced both seals and hope to test it out tomorrow!

Its amazing how hidden away the signs are of how to open this.....but no worry i found it!

Post a pic or a howto if you're successful. I was under the impression that they could not be serviced.

I did not think they were replaceable, good luck, I hope you learned something we can all use!
