How to open the cover of windshield wiper
1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
(1996 E320) I need to remove the plastic part under the cover of windshield wiper, that is one piece completely extends from fender to fender (from A to B in the picture); besides at the each far end there is a rivet R (not a screw) holding it down. I am intending to cut the rivets with a Dremmel but in the center the part is stll held down by sleeve of the wiper housing. http://s245.photobucket.com/albums/g...e/IMG_1399.jpg So the primary issue is to remove the wiper housing, any idea? I don't see any screw and have tried to carefully pry the cover but to no avail. Thanks! |
Tex, from what I've read the wiper arm needs to be moved to the vertical position to remove the cover, then the arm itself. You may want to try a 'Search' for details. I suspect once you get the cover removed things will be self-explanatory. Let me recommend you take lots of pictures during the disassembly process as reference information for the reassembly.

Thanks Fredman, I'll give it a try this evening.
