A/C condensers Behr Silla - any opinions/recommendations/caveats?
I need a condenser for my 560SL. Behr is $325.00 - $400.00 on-line in the U.S., delivered to ME (I can burn about $30.00 gas and pick-up), but I can get one here in Canada for $212.00, plus tax, delivered.
A Silla is $145.00 on-line, delivered to ME (plus gas to get). Bottom line, I can save nearly $100.00 if I buy the Silla. The system will have to be converted to 134A or whatever the current flavour of A/C refrigerant is now, as R12 is ILLEGAL here (never mind it's in all our home fridges and air conditioners, just not allowed in cars....go figure). What are the forum's votes on this? I searched and no info on Silla, but some seem to suggest that Behr works best with R12, not the newer stuff....but that I assume would be OEM, maybe not the aftermarket?

Well, 24 lookeys but no input. I guess Silla must be rare for Mercedes replacement, or I didn't get the attention of the right members.
I decided that the car was worth the extra cost of the Behr. I hope I didn't make a bad choice. I have no idea why Canadian prices on Behr are so much less than US prices, but that alone is a saving in itself too.
