Question Do people shrink during the day?

I set my driver seat so that I can see past the middle point of the Mercedes star on the hood and it is every morning the case when I drive to work. However in the evening on the way home the star is only visible above the center. The difference is maybe 1/4 inch. Do people shrink that much during the day? I don't have a heavy job, just a office worker, I wonder whether professional movers suffer more shrinkage?

yes. It is a well known fact.
You " stretch " in your sleep and shrink during the day.

Just bump your seat up a bit for the way home....

Yep, your joints in your spine compress due to gravity during the day when you're upright (or sitting etc...) and the overall compression is like 1/4" to 1/2" or so.
