Danboy--my understanding is that the spring perch problem does not apply to the 4-Matics, because the spring mounting is different on them, as opposed to the rear-drive models. I have read this here and also heard it from a veteran MB tech who has seen the spring perch issue.

Hey

I Have a E280 V6 (112 engine) with 320.000km on the clock, still a very smooth ride. I've bin told that 500.000km shouldn't be a problem with that engine, as long as I take care and manitain it.

Hey Joe B.

What has me worried is that I see rust at the top of the shocks. I was installing a voltage regulator and I happened to notice rust at the top of the front shocks, I got so discouraged that I don't use the car anymore.

Broke 250,000 miles a little over a week ago. Actually just over 252,000 now, it was a long trip.

I pulled over on I75 in Kentucky somewhere when I had a tenth of a mile or so to go, so I could get a picture at 249,000 and then at 250,000. After taking a couple pics with my camera and then with my phone, I turned off the hazards and went to pull back onto the freeway. As I turned to see if anyone was coming, I realised there was an officer standing at my window. He said he saw my four-ways and asked if everything was okay. I said "Oh yeah, I'm fine. I just hit 250,000 miles and thought I'd stop to get a picture." He kinda smiled, took a look at the car and chuckled. "Okay, well drive safe!"

That leg of the trip also saw 32mpg, my best ever. That's a full tank at around 70mph on I75.

Hey,

My E280 (112) has 330.000 km on it, and is still running perfect with no access oilconsumption. 500.000km should be no problem :-)

My 1997 E320 is approaching 174K. It looks and drives like a 5-year-old car. I recently replaced AMM, Fuel Pressure Regulator, and both rear window regulators. It needs shocks, but those are coming soon...
