1998 E320 50K Service

Was wondering what services should be done at 50k miles? I have already changed the oil, coolant and brake fluids. Thank a million. :)

It couldnt hurt to do the trans fluid and filter now.

Brake fluid every 2 years
Coolant every 3 years
air + fuel filters every 4yr/60k

which Spark Plugs are the best to use on the M112? Which kind of Tranny fluid is the best? Thanks agian

ah yes I forgot plugs- every 80k/4 years on a 98 (IIRC).

Bosch plugs, single tip will be just fine, not +2 or +4.
98 will have a 722.6 electric trans, best to use the MB fluid for it, unless someone else knows of a suitable substitute.

All of that info is in the owner's manual along with a whole lot of other good and informative stuff. If you don't have one, call 1-800-FOR-MERC(EDES) to order one. They're not expensive.

+1 +1

OEM plugs are discontinued. Bosch and NKG make suitable replacements. Don't use resistor type plugs in your engine.

With only 5K miles per year all maintenance should be based on time not miles. Are you using your FSS? It will compensate for your driving conditions. Use Mobil 1 0W40 syn with fleece filter.
