Trick to changing plugs? 94 C220

Hey All,

Bought plugs and was going to change them in the wife's 1994 C220. When I pulled the boot off of one, I noticed there was a plastic circle still on the head of the plug, I cannot even see the bottom of the plug to get a socket around it. What am I missing, does this take a special tool?

Thanks for the help fellas.

Part of the connector stayed on the plug pull it off and change the plug. Replace the connector.

Ok steve,

So when the boot comes off if the connector is still on it, just remove it and remove the plug? Will that hurt the plug wire with that coming off like that?

One other thing, it is TIGHT down in there, is there a better way of getting these out of there?

Thanks

Jason

If you have the wire off and part of it is on the plug it obviously ain't cool. Thats why I said replace the connector.

There are special pliers designed to grab the connector but it still comes apart sometimes. From the customers point of view its your problem cause you broke it.

Ok Steve,

So you are saying I need a whole new set of plug wires then right?

It is no problem, I don't think they have ever been changed and I know it is my fault, lol.

Just let me know.

Thanks

No, I said you needed to replace the connector.

Ok,

I feel a bit stupid here, by replace the connector you mean just stick it back on the plug or back up in the wire after you change the plugs. Or do I need a new one?

Thanks for your help.

The connector is broken, so you have to replace it:
