2005 E55 howling noise
Can anyone tell me why my 2005 E55 makes a 10 second howling noise at start-up? The dealer told me it is related to the vacuum brake booster and nothing can be done about it. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Have they offered to start a similar car to allow you to listen to that noise?

M.B. Doc no they haven't. I live in Il. and will contact some other dealers to see what they say. Thanks for the suggestion as there are no other E55"s in my area. This is annoying an annoying problem.

May not be many E55's, but a S55, Cl55, SL55, CLK55, ML55, G55 all should have the SAME sound on cold engine start-up. A good dealer should be willing to help!
