Car wont start - please help
I was driving my 1987 300E home for from work and it stalled. I coasted to the side of the road and tried starting it. It would start fine but die about 5 seconds later. I popped the hood and removed and put back the fuel pump relay - as I have had problems with the area before. The car then started and ran fine. The next morning the car cranks but does not start. I tried the relay again - this part is fairly new. It does not start. Also I dont hear the fuel pump running.
Thanks.

fuel pump relay
Sounds like you already homed in on the problem. Pull your relay again and spray some electrical contact cleaner into the socket then replace the relay. Still no start, check wiring to the socket. Still no start, get another relay. Even new electrical stuff can fail.
Let us know how it works out. |
