210 fuel sender removal
How do you access the fuel sender on a 99 E430. My tank got overfilled at the gas station and I've now gone 200 miles and the gauge has only dropped to 3/4! BTW could anything else have been damaged, the car normally takes $65 to fill, I was expecting $75 as it was really empty and gas has gone up in price, it took $85 before it tripped off. When I removed the filler it blew a good gallon or so back at me.
Thanks for any information, Peter |
it is behind the carpeted cover in the rear of the trunk, you must remove the panel to gain acess. there is a special tool required to remove the unit, but i usually use a 90 degree angle needle nose plier set

fuel gauge
Having the same issues with my fuel gauge on a 99 e320. But I get a different kind of reading, with a full tank of gas, needle hovers between 1/2 and 1/4.
Will replacing the sender fix the problem ? Or could it also possibly be a Gauge/Cluster issue? Thanks much. |
