A/C Diagnostics Codes
On the 1995 C280:
I recently reviewed 4 stored faults in the AC system, retrieved via PBU. I then deleted the 4 faults, and a week later checked out what came up. 2 of the 4 came back, and always come back. The 2 recurring codes are: 60: A/C Compressor Electromagnetic Clutch (A9k1). Cause: Short or Open Circuit. Intermittent (not continuous). 82: Switchover Valve Block (Y11/3), Tempering Flap. Cause: Short or Open Circuit. Intermittent (not continuous). Now I am not especially worried because they are Intermittent and not continuous codes. But what exactly do they mean? Thanks for the help. |
The A/C pushbutton applies current directly to both of these componets, & if the draw is too high or too low then you will get this type of code! IN most cases they are meaningless, however if the A/C clutch current draw is too high then it can damage the control unit.
