speedo &tripmeter

hi all,ive got a w202 c280 1995,yesterday the speedo and tripmeter stopped working,after i had new stereo fitted,
also the dash has been changed from kmh to mph so is it poss that the speedo cable has come loose
thats if it has a cable?? as this is my first Mercedes-Benz i dont no
and what is the procedure to get to the cable ??

im trying to find out what and why it has happend when changing the stereo any ideas
is it a case of resetting something?
its really annoying as only had car 3 days and everything apart from this is great,already in love with it(but dont tell the wife)

i`ve found the problem today,i had the dash out to clean the needles on the speedo and still no joy.
then i put the old becker stereo back in and guess what!! it works again the speedo and trip meter
but i want a new stereo in the car so how do i do it anyone please help

The radio has a vehicle speed input to allow it to increase volume as the car goes faster.

Obviously that cable is not happy with whatever it was attached to on the other radio. The simplest way would be to identify the cable and not attach it.

Looks like a Green and White wire on terminal #1 of the "A" connector.
