whats the normal oil pressure for a 93 300E

just bought a 93 300e and wondering what the normal oilpressure is suposed to be

Judging from the many W126ers from that era I have driven, expect 3 bar all the time, to be normal, dipping to 1 1/2 to 2 bar when idling at a red light sometimes, then jumping back up to 3 bar when you pull away and drive nomally again

Does that help?

I will interject as I had the top-end redone last year and replaced a failed oil pressure sending unit a month ago.

These are readings with 10W-30 dino (non-synthetic) oil:

Startup - 3 bar...pretty much pegged at "3" until the motor warms up. (btw, "startup" implies cranking up the car, not just twisting the key to the "II" position. If the gauge pegs to "3" and the engine isn't running, then the sending unit is bad.)

Once warmed up and the engine is at idle, my gauge readings hover from 2 - 2.5 bar. Goes back up to 3 bar if the engine revs are anything above idle.

I might add, in the years prior to the gasket replacement (and original sending unit), I saw readings around 1.5 - 2 bar at idle...but always pegged at 3 when proceeding at above-idle revs.
