have 95 c220,some times no start,go back a min. later and it takes rt off,or you may try for a hour and it may not start,had a code for the cam sensor,replaced it no diff,fuel pump cks ok,could it be the crank sensor?help no spark?

It could be the crank sensor, but I doubt it. It can't be the cam sensor as the car will start with it unplugged.

My best guess is the OVP. But it could be the crank sensor.

one time it wouldnt start,l sprayed brake clean in the intake,started rt up,sec time it didnt make any diff,no spark,that when the code for the cam came up,acted up 1 time since,in probly 30-40 starts.

A crank sensor will not usually set a code. The logic is that if the cranks sensor isn't registering the controller doesn't know the engine is turning, so it obviously can't critique it. A cam sensor code can result though from a bad crank sensor due to the fact that the crank is believed first and if it isn't registering for a moment the cam is seen out of phase.

The OVP just powers the controller so if it isn't on then the controller just stays asleep and has no reason to code anything.

Got to be absolutely the most common acronym on this forum. It fixes everything, don't ya know :)

It stands for overvoltage protection. It is like a UPS (uninteruptable power source ... or some such) power supply for various car computors. It is basically just a power relay but it has the ability to clip voltage spikes that could damage the controller. It uses a zener diode that passes voltage at some amount through a fuse to ground. So if you are pumping more than say 18v out of your alternator it takes the extra to ground blows the fuse and protects. It is usually blown by poor jump starts, but yours won't be blown as that would be a permanent problem. If the OVP is the problem on yours it is defective.
