Transmission Troubles

1991 300CE...my transmission will only drive in 1st gear, when it shifts into the higher gears, its just like neutral...I think my transmission is dead, does anyone have an idea about how much $$$ to have it rebuilt/repaired.

Going through this right now

Hope it works out, do you think it may just be in limp mode?
87 300E I'm also looking at the throttle pos. sensor and O2 sensor.
Good Luck:D

Can those items (sensors, etc) that you mentioned cause a transmission to act like its gone out, or (slipping) in the highgears...because it gave me no warning whatsoever...normally the transmission will start slipping and slowly get worse...I'm just assuming its totally shot because its got 224,000 miles on it...let me know if you have any tips for me...
