1990 560SEC/What Glue to Use for Hat Tray Covering Material?

I'm retrofitting my 1990 560SEC with an electric rear sunshade I got from a breaker. The interior of the donor was black; but mine is crème beige. So I bought some crème beige “backless” Feintuft (German carpet like) material to glue onto the aluminum housing for the electric rear sunshade. Although “backless,” the Feintuft material is quite thick…but it isn’t sealed with a plastic/polymer/rubber backing… its more open/woven like. A friend suggested the 3M Super Trim adhesive which I’ve used on hood pads because of the heat buildup in the rear window. However, this project seems more delicate. What kind of glue should I use to glue the “backless” Feintuft material onto the aluminum housing for the electric rear sunshade?

Check with an Upholstry shop

There are several adhesives that are specific tot he Upholstry Automotive trade that might work and not bleed through. check with a good local Auto Upholstry shop and see what they use.
