103 Cold Start & Hot Restart Issues.
Hi All,
This is a bit challenging because I went and had the fuel system pressure tested and my trusted mechanic said pressure was good and holding ( I do not have the actual numbers ) - Naturally this would send one to look for the issues elsewhere - Still I find that if I let the Fuel System build pressure for several seconds in the morning, or later in the day before starting the engine - The car will start easily and preform well. That seems to contradict the results of the pressure test. Does it not ? Just about all the "links" in the "fuel chain" are recently replaced/or within maintenance guide lines. Plugs,wires,rotor,cap,filter,pump,fuel-relay,accumulator,Idle valve & hoses. I've read that the injectors are supposed to be good for the life of the engine. Mine have about six years/63,000 miles on them and the FPR does not seem to leak any fuel when turning off the engine (that I can tell) What am I missing ? 1987 300SE Euro. very good car. |
anyone ?
