Cool 280 CE fan blower issues

Have a beautiful '80 280 CE (123 chassis). My 16 A fan blower fuse, and a 8A fuse for the air-conditioning compressor switch-over valve idle stabilization keep blowing up. Would appreciate any tips to begin trouble-shooting as existing DIY forums on climate control work look pretty scary.

Car originally had aluminum fuses and I did not have any electrical problems till I converted to Buss "coppers." I am cleaning terminals and re-installing the aluminums and will post later whether this was a fix. Got this idea a from another thread!

I had the same problem w/a 16a fuse for the blower. The cheap fuse I had bought - copper/brass plated junk - burned up completely. After replacing it w/the older style fuse, I had no problem. The cheapies seem to work, however, w/lower amperage.
