Quick, simple A/C question
The compressor ports are marked 'D' and 'S', which I assume is 'discharge' and 'suction'. I have a conversion kit, from R12 to 134A, and it has adaptors for the shrader valves, marked 'H' and 'L', which I assume is 'high' and 'low'. Which is the high side, the discharge or the suction? (I know next to nada about A/C)

Low side is suction..

I have. Unfortunately, R12 is illegal here, in car A/C anyway. Never mind that my house A/C and fridge don't have the latest 'green' stuff in them. On the plus side (?), we're lucky to get 2 months of A/C weather a year here, and the system I'm converting is in my 560SL. It hasn't been used in many, many years by the previous owners, at least several of whom were from Florida. I'm really getting it going because, well, who ever heard of a Mercedes without air?:D

Up 'til the mid 90's , Benz had what looked like a/c , but it sure didn't feel like a/c. |

All kidding aside - for a mild 2-month Canadian winter you should be fine with a R134a conversion. EDIT: I meant a mild 2-month Canadian summer... |

Man... I guess I've got a great A/C guy. My 92 300D with 134A is getting a 27-30 degree temp drop from the A/C.
