Please help me understand option codes (VIN decoded) - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

I ran across a car local to me I am looking at it today. I ran the vin and this is what I got. Some of the stuff I have no idea some I do. Does this thing really have a 4.08 rear gear? I added some arrows with some of the stuff I would like to know what it means<<<<<<< like that so if you can help I would appreciate it.

Do those (c XX. XX. 1970) designate the year that code meant whatever or what the heck am I reading??? THANKS VERY VERY MUCH Dave

Yes, the date(s) designate the era for that for code description - e.g. 232 is for tires, not rear axle ratio, since the car is a 1993 model.

So does that mean if it for example below after the most recent date it means sport seats front and rear????

A single date like that on 243 should mean that that description is still valid - i.e. sport seats. This was done by the Russian MB Club and some of it may involve human intervention, interpretation plus language translation. For example number 261, elimination of the V12 model designation dating to 1973, would appear to be nonsense. That said it's a great site. For more factory like precision you may want to get the production data card from the factory or the VMI from a dealer.
