Question 91 190E stuck window

window motor operates very smoothly but hits what I would call its stops at about 2 inches from the top. As I said the motor works just fine in both directions but stop short of the top. Do I need a new regulator?

Could be a bent tooth on the regulator or a bent regulator arm.....either way you do likely need a new regulator....

Yes I guess I knew that,I looked in side the door last night and all I could see was a loose cable when at the stopping point of up-ward direction.
