No start hot or cold
1987 260e
Engine turns over but no sign of starting. Fuel is present, even using starting fluid there is not even a hiccup...nothing! So I checked for a spark at both the plug wire and at the coil tower, nothing. I have 12+ volts at the coil with ignition on. I searched the forum for EZL and Reference sensor info. can the sensor be measured with an ohm meter? When I crank the engine the tach. needle doesn't move. I seem to remember that before this problem the tach showed cranking speed ( I may be wrong.) How much is the EZL unit and any ideas where, apart from a dealer I can buy one? typical reason why car won't start : bad fuel pump relay; worn out spark plugs and wires; ignition coils; faulty wirings. it could be that the car needs some tune-ups.
anyways, it would be best to check all your car parts to see what might be the problem. let you auto mechanic check and see what's wrong, good luck |
