tramsmission shift lock problem ??
 

i have a 2002 e-320 4matic.
when i start the car , and press the brake pedal down, i dont hear the shift lock release and i cannot get the car into gear.
i can manually release it and it shifts perfectly.
is it a brake switch problem or a modular problem ?

Does the gear indicator lights change when you move the shifter selector, P R D ----, if not it could be the shifter module, Scan for codes with a MB compatible scanner, with data stream. You can jump the brake switch connector, as a test
