1993 300TE - Alarm issues
Need help / advice on how to disarm my alarm. For about 6 months, my alarm goes off for no reason. I suspect the drivers side lock / tumbler as it's finicky when it's damp or cold becaue I startign having issues with it abouit the same time 6 - 8 months ago. I know replacing the lock / tumbler is easy but the part is expensive.
I was away for 4 days and came back to a dead battery. I suspect the battery was drained from power drain from the alarm. I've read the forum on Benzworld and have learned this is a common problem with the 124. What I want to do is to disable / or disarm the alarm. I understnad the module is under the passanger carpet. Does anyone have any straight forward instructions on disarming the alarm. With disabling the alarms affect any other function (centrl locking?) Other that this new isues, the car is a tank, has 190,000 miles and is in great shape. I just need to find a work around to kill the alarm. |
It's a very easy process, just unplug the Becker module under the foot well.. The module does alarm and alarm alone.
Should take about 5 minutes start to finish w/ a bit of time for banging out the carpet;-) Jonathan |
Being a 93 the alarm could set the k38 relay. If so the car won't start with the alarm module disconnected. It would be this way in 94 I know and the 93 is like the 94 more than the earlier versions. I'd try it and if it won't start bypass the k38 relay.

Good point..I was still thinking M103/early 124 systems.

sorry to dredge up old post -- but I think I just found a clue to my problem. Where is the k38 relay and how do I bypass it?
