Transmission Failure: How do you check B2 piston situation?
First time posting. Thank you for information received so far. C32AMG recommended this place on another site. 1994 C280 Auto 197,XXX mi. Transmission only goes in reverse. While climbing a canyon hill the car started flaring and then would not go forward in any of the three forward settings. I have sourced another 722.XXX tranny from a 1996 E320 but it has been suggested to me (by Steve) that there is one thing I can check with the tranny in the car; B2 Piston failure. Where do I find this specific info on how to do this, what to look for, and where to find the pieces to refresh this area if it is indeed the problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Michael

Passenger side rear, big round cover, push the cover in, remove the round retain ring, then the cover. Remove B2 piston and apply pin and check the piston for any cracks |
