V8 sensor identification

I'm trying to figure out which engine sensor does what. So far I have determined the following:

Oil temp and pressure gauge senders are down by the oil filter housing.

Temp. gauge sender is on the front of the thermostat housing.
Aux. fan sender is on the right (passenger) side of the thermostat housing.

So there are three others on top of the motor -

Right rear with 2 prongs
Left rear with 1 prong
Center (near ICV) with 2 prongs

Can anyone help?

I'm actually in the same boat. I've never had to tear open my 380se (KNOCK ON WOOD, seriously). But I'd really like to know what's there.

I guess we have to stop being cheap, and actually buy a service manual.

Find the part and read the description? http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb1.asp?TP=1&F=126032&M=116963&GA=722%2E301310&L=765%2E706&VIN=%2A&

Why don't you just subscribe to alldatadiy.com? $14.99 a year gets you access to the online service manual.

You can also buy a copy of Workshop Information System (WIS) for $25 off of ebay.

Also, the Mercedes-Benz Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC)is now free for US models. All you have to do is sign-up and get a user ID.
