Are SKF wheel bearings good?

Worldpac sells them for my W126. What brand are OE?

My front drivers side keeps getting lose and its the only one AFAIK that has been changed. Off to order a kit from Phil.

IIRC the last time I replaced a wheel bearing I bought the kit from the dealer and they were SKF bearings.

SKF & FAG are both OE German bearing companies.

However in todays multi-national corporations they could be made anywhere including CHINA!

SKF is a Swedish based company.
SKF bearings are also made in USA & in Germany. And are OE on many MB applications.

I just want to make sure I'm getting a good part that will last. I rather pay more upfront for the best part possible and not have to do the job a second time.

Sounds like SKF is what I would get from the dealer so it should be pretty good.

They're in my SD and one of the 745i. No issues.

The SKF kits that worldpac sells are made in Mexico FWIW.

SKF and FAG are both headquartered in Schwienfurt Germany. Probably made in China/Mexico as stated. But some stock is still MFG in DE. just depends who the distrubuter is. most marketed stuff US is made in Mexico under NAFTA.

That and the customer support we receive are the reasons I spec them too.

I bought the wheel bearing kit at the mercedes dealer last summer. It was skf i beleive. I remember for a FACT it said Made in Japan stampted on the bearings.

There was NO mercedes star on the bearing, so it looks like they bought the bearing and put it in a benz box.

So you can probably source them cheaper than the benz dealer and it will be the exact same thing.
