Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I just got a 1984 380SL from my brother and I'm trying to fix everything that is wrong with it. The biggest thing first is that the steering wheel is actually bent, shifted, moved, to the left. It is however centered horizontally while driving down the road and the car tracks fine. I have never seen anything like this at all. Basically if I put the wheel straight the left side would be about 1.5" closer to the dash than the left. It is very annoying. My brother did tell me that a while back he did have the steering box replaced or fixed? I couldn't find it in his paper work so I don't know exactly what they did. I was reading in another post that someone adjusted the tie rods? If that is true how exactly do you do that? Could someone please give me some advice. ![]() Thanks, Rod |
