1996 M120 Engine Starts and Dies
Gentlemen.
I am attempting to start an M120 engine for the first time. This engine was just installed into a 107 chassis. The engine and electrical harnesses and computers form a 1996 SL600 were installed into this 1986 560SL chassis. Friday was the first time this engine ran at all in over a year. The computers installed are 2 ME ECUs. Basic module, Trans ETS, and ESP. All engine wiring to computers is complete. All transmission wiring is complete. All ESP components except for computer and harness are NOT installed. All four vehicle wheel speed sensors are electrically connected but NOT installed. Evaporative Emission purge valves and system are NOT installed. Brake Assist System (BAS) is NOT connected. Vehical Accelerometer and fuel pressure sensors are NOT connected Alternator is NOT electrically connected. There is NO cooling system at this time. The starter lockout relay is bypassed. The Break pedal switch is jumped. The engine at this time will start and die after about a second. The longer I let it set the longer it will run after started. I got about 2 seconds out of it this mornings first start. Can anyone tell me what I have missing as minimum requirements for starting this engine. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showpost.php?p=1864302&postcount=241 |
