w210 bubbling rear view mirror
All, I am new and this is my first post, although I have read many of yours and found them very helpful. I can’t find any information on an issue I have with my w210 rear view mirror, though, so I’ll post this and hope for some advice. Problem is that I broke my interior rear view mirror on my 97 e320 while trying to eliminate a rattle. The result of this break was the mirror and the outside driver’s side mirror both got dark and bubbled, and quit working. I replaced the exterior mirror with a new one, but have not bought a new one for the interior. As a cost saving measure, I was just hoping that I could get by with the one I caused to bubble, since I can see out of it just fine and can live with out the auto dimming feature. My question is: has anyone heard of this happening before, and can I plug the existing interior mirror into the wiring as it is, or do I have to buy a new mirror for the interior as well. And if I do have to get a new one, what do I need to check before I plug that one in to avoid another bubbling incident? Thanks in advance, Lance

Here you go:
A lot cheaper than a new one. ![]() The " bubbling " was probably caused by you twisting the mirror.
