Track Rod

I have a 1978 300CD with a damaged steering/suspension component. The part is a 3 piece assembly that runs from the tie rod to the inside of the hub assembly, composed of two threaded ball type ends and an adjusting sleeve. It is approximately 14 inches in length altogether. I am confused by the terminology I am seeing from different parts sites. According to my Shop Manual CD, it is called a track rod. Are there different names that this might be called with different vendors? Is it sold as an assembly or by the individual components. Any and all help is enormously appreciated.

Track rod is the same as tie rod Assembly. Tie rod end would be the ends only. The center is the adjusting sleeve. The ends are different [ R /L] b/c the threads are either R or L handed...Buy the assembly,it is easier and if one is gone , the other is soon to follow.......... Adjust the lenght of the unit to match what you took off for approximate alignment..but proper alignment is required after changing these parts [ toe in/out]
