1985 380 SE Fuel problems

I have a 380 SE (1985) the fuel pump went out so changed that put in new fuel pump it is working but now the car wont start it is getting too much fuel the spark plugs are wet with fuel. Any ideas on what woyuld cause this? any help appreciated.

Possible that the new pump is the wrong one for your car, putting out too much pressure or volume.

Check the fuel pressure - sounds like it is too high...
