97 S500 torque for camshaft
Hello everyone,
My car is 1997 W140 (S500) I’ve just replaced my oil guides, after the engine started to make infamous ticking sound. Great DIY link. Thank you! After putting everything back together, I noticed different torque for camshaft bearing caps on the star DVD. One is 15 Nm and the other is 25 Nm (page 05-220). I definitely don’t want to over-tight. ![]() Was there a change in torque for engines after the model update in 1996? What should I set the torque meter for? Your help is greatly appreciated in advance. Mark. |
