Anybody owns a high mileage 4matic e320?

Wondering if anyone owns a 4matic e320 98-03 with high miles.

Can you tell me a little bit about the car? What kind of problems you had with it and the miles per gallon you are getting.

Maybe try www.mbca.org for input

you know about the HARMONIC BALANCER and the SHOCK TOWER?

However: a few weeks ago a friend of mine was in town to visit his parents and we took out his fathers 2002 320 4-matic. Car has 86K miles and has had NO trouble, car was purchase STARMARK from a dealer. I think the father purchased the car in 2004

We were both surprised how nice a car it was, how well it drove. My friend is a BMW owner and runs a Ferrari race team so he drives lots of cars and they're a major part of his life. I was a bit surprised of his high praise for the car after having driven it.

One outstanding feature of the car is how stable the car - front particularly - during highway abrupt lane changes. Friend and I were guessing that the front -drive aspect really adds some benefits in dry conditions.

My dad drives around in a 2001 E320 4matic with ~160K miles on it.

I know it has had nothing done to the AWD system. No leaks, no noises, nothing at all.

The engine uses about 1 qt of M1 every 3500 - 4000 miles, I guess.
