1989 300E HVAC Repair Manual Online
My AC isn't blowing cold air through the two middle dash vents. The side vents are blowing cold, but the air is blowing up on the defrost/window instead of out of the two middle vents.
My indy said his computer program doesn't give him any information on HVAC to track the problem. Is there anyplace online where I can find this so I can print it out and give it to him? 1989 300E 229,500 Miles and going! |

Just buy the CD, it's not expensive.
Your problem is typical. The center vent vacuum element has failed. Fixing is not trivial. Jim

The first thing you should do is get a tech with the tooling and information to support his profession. The fact that you don't have that info is understandable, the fact he doesn't borders on criminal.
The info is available through Alldata or any other data system, what kinda tech is he.

He has a computer system and has always used it for repair on my car; I've been there many times and observed my tech using it for my MB, but the owner called yesterday and said that the info my tech needs isn't on their program.
The mechanic there that works on my MB is ASE Certified and has always done a great job. I am in a tiny town in the high desert and they have always let me provide my own parts and I just pay labor. I just ordered the CD set and it is probably a good idea for me to have it in these rare instances. ETA: He has Mitchell on Demand Last edited by AdMaven; 06-25-2008 at 12:57 PM. |
