Transmission and gear selector stuck in park.
Must of happened when i had my engine lifted up so i could take out my oil pan. I know the transmission is stuck becuase it was freely shifting from park all the to first gear(manually moving the linkage rod thing back and forth) then i removed a wire and it went into lock out mode or something in park. Not sure why the gear selector was stuck in the first place but it was. I have a i-pro OTC that says it has a Selector Lever Signal Error so whats wrong? I think i reset the tranny and im going to unhook the linkage and check again but the shift lever is stuck in park, connected to the tranny or not.

WHAT year & model car??
|
Its a 97 E320 with the 722.6 transmission
pro60modman was my old account so my old computer signs me in that way. |
On the 1997 car there is a cable from the brake pedal to the rear of the trans that allows the shifter to be moved from park.
There is a reset on that cable right at the trans, just de-press the "button". |
It worked thanks but the gear selector(even unhooked) barely gets to nuetral, i probably broke it right?
