96 C220 DAS repair ??
I'm pondering buying a 96 C220 that currently does not run.
The owner said it need a DAS repair and the shop wants $1500 to fix it ? Could this simply be the K40 relay ?? |

Start by having the DAS system scanned.
There is 1 company that can repair fuel computer if that is the problem.

The car is sitting at a repair shop currently.
I just got off the phone with the mechanic and he said they had it scanned at a local MB Dealership and they came back with this.... It needs the following parts... -DAS Controller -Alarm Controller -(2)Key FOBS He's quoting $1200-1500 for the Repairs. BTW, I specifically inquired about the infamous K40 relay and he said it was NOT that. The owner is asking around $1500 for the car itself. So total of around $3k for it fixed. I haven't seen the car yet, but it's "supposed" to be in pretty decent overall condition. It has 164,xxx miles on it (concerns me....). "If" I buy it, I'm sure I could tow it home and do the repairs myself. I need to know now where to buy these parts (Inexpensive as possible). What other year/models would these parts interchange with ? Anyone have any used parts for this ? TIA |
